ABOUT THE PROJECT

Located at 10^th and Vine Streets in Philadelphia, Home That Was is a temporary artwork created during the summer of 2010. Benjamin Volta worked with a team of intergenerational artists from the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program to create wallpaper patterns that explore consumption, memory, and loss. Attached to the exterior wall of a neighboring row home, the wallpapers are installed on the thin plaster remains of a house that no longer exists.
